I have a Mac, so I'm better than you
I actually don't believe that, but Macs are good for a lot of things. I think one of their best products are their towers (they're desktop computers that are big). We had a refurbished one that was broken and so we returned it for a refund and spent a bunch more money on a brand new Mac Pro. It's the fastest Mac ever and one powerful machine. I'm not saying we need the speed or power, in fact, we downgraded some so we could save some money. Instead of 2 2.8Ghz processors (which is standard) we just got one. Oh no, I'm sure it will be way too slow. Not. You can actually put 2 3.2 Ghz processors in there. Who needs that? Not us.
This computer will last years, and it's really easy to upgrade and buy and install parts for it. Right now we have 4GB of RAM. Why? who knows. It comes with 2GB standard and we had 2 other GB from our old computer so we plugged them in and so I don't think we'll have to worry about the RAM for a while. BUT if we felt like we DID need another processor or a wireless card, better graphics card, or other things, they are pretty easy to find where they go and just push them in. I feel good about the Mac Pro, especially for Billy. Actually, the Math department at UCSB is the only department that has insisted on and gone only to Mac computers. They do a lot of computing and programming and such and the Mac's are more powerful and do those kinds of things better. Also, through my brother we have a lot of free programs which would normally cost a lot of money like Microsoft Office for Mac, Adobe CS3 (I am SO EXCITED about this) and other random ones like Toast Titanium, Garage Band, and an encyclopedia program that's fun to play with. It's a pretty neat machine, and on top of it we got a new keyboard and mouse to go with it. Also, Apple had the buy a computer for school, get a free iPod with rebate deal so we got the 8GB iPod touch. I love playing with the iPod, it's really fun and I've already downloaded a bunch of stupid applications for it.
It was pretty typical Apple, though. We ordered the computer and iPod to ship to my parents' house in SJ so my little brother could load all of our old files onto the new computer. 2 days after the iPod arrived at my parents' house, Apple came up with an update. Which costs us $9.95. Luckily we won't be paying anything for the iPod (rebate!!) so the iPod cost us $10. Sweet deal.
In other news, I have started a class at Santa Barbara City College since they are on the semester system. I am taking Human Anatomy and it's kind of a lot of work but pretty easy. We have our first test on Tuesday. I am in San Jose right now, and I really need to study because we're coming back tomorrow (monday) probably at night and then my test is the next day. It will be pretty intense but I know what I need to study and I'm not worried about it.
Billy just finished his summer school classes at UCSB and he has 2 weeks of summer vacation. That's it. It started on Thursday and so we left then to come up to SJ to get our computer and see my brothers and Billy's parents. I'd say I had a pretty good summer of doing not a lot, I played a lot of video games. I was ready for it to end and so I was happy to take my Anatomy class. I'll have to tell more because we've been doing bones but when we move on to muscles and other things we will look at/work with cadavers. We have 5 cadavers at the school and I'm kind of scared but fascinated. We haven't seen them yet. I'm not sure how I will feel because I've never actually seen a dead person before. Not even open casket funeral or anything. But we have to give them respect because they donated their bodies so that we could learn from them. I also feel that it's probably true the seeing the real thing is the best way to learn. Anyway, on a solemn note, I suppose, that is all. Peace.

Well well, look who up and updated their blog! That's sweet you got a fancy new computer and iTouch. I'm a fan of the iTouch but I don't have any fun applications for it yet. I should get some though. I think I'll be the same way when I take Anatomy...I want to see the cadaver, but at same time....hmm..Anyway, good luck on your test. And tell Billy to enjoy his summer break.
