I just got hit with school!
So I haven't posted anything in a while. School is pretty tough, needless to say. Here are my classes:
Biochemistry Lecture (Chem 142A)
MWF 1-2pm
[not bad, pretty boring, straight out of the book. not a problem or a worry here]
Bio-physical Chemistry (Chem 112A)
TTh 9:30-10:45am
[pretty tough, it's actually like being in a math class again. I have to think]
Beginning Ballet (Dance 42A)
TTh 8-9am
[pretty fun! except very early, and I have to go to 2 dance performances]
Anatomy (BMS 107 at Santa Barbara City College)
TTh 3:55-5:15pm
W (lab) 2:30-5:15pm
[I have to take this for some of my future plans, it's really easy. especially comparably]
Biochemistry Lab (Chem 110L)
TTh 6-10pm
Biochemistry Lab is the worst class and the only one I have real worries about. I have to pass it, and all of the other labs in this 3 quarter sequence. However, the teacher has no problem only having 3 people pass the lab sequence (basically, 3 people actually graduating with this degree) and so there isn't really a curve. We need 65% to pass with a C or C-, I forget which it is. So far only 3 people are passing I think? Luckily, I am one of them!!! I have been doing all right in the class, not an A by any means, but passing. He says if you are not prepared for lab (get a zero on the quiz, do badly on the prelab work) then he sends you home. Well, he doesn't just say this, he's done it. So anyway, I try to do my best in the class, but it's really tough. There is a lot of writing and a lot of busy work. Also, I have to know exactly what I'm doing in lab before I go in there (of course) but that takes a lot more work than you think. I have to read up on all of these processes that we are going to do so that I can understand why we are doing these experiments a certain way or not. I would say out of all of my classes, this one and P-chem (bio-physical chemistry) are the most difficult.
To say it a short way, I'm worried about school. I hope I can graduate and get my degree. I would be really proud of myself. I am going to be the first person in my immediate family to graduate college. And then I'm going to go on further than that!! I'm so excited and pumped for school when I think of it this way, it almost makes me forget all of my debt.

Yay for being the first! It feels silly to have motivation being because you'll be the first in your family, but it totally works! I'm sorry your classes are so hard. But I say you should try to relax the last weekend in October. You deserve it. We'll even come all the way up just to make sure you do relax. That's how cool we are...
